Postal items consisting in: books, periodicals, newspapers, catalogues, brochures, geographic maps, musical scores, etc.

Printed paper items included in the Standard service circulate unregistered through the entire technological flow.
Starting January, 06 2014, the ' Registered ' additional service for non-priority international letter mail items was suspended.

The service that offers a flat-rate guarantee against risks of loss, theft, total or partial damage or damage of the mail service item and in issuing, upon request, a proof regarding the submission to the access point or delivery to the addressee.
Upon posting the mail service item, a registration number is given and an additional fee (fixed) is charged for each item.
The international letter items are registered for the entire length of the operational flow and monitored using the Track&Tracesystem.
Standard mail service items are registered once arrived at the destination and delivered under signature
From the posting subunit to the delivery subunit, mail service items travel unregistered.
General delivery (P.R.)
Accepted for mail items sent to localities that have postal subunits (postal offices, external desks).An additional fee is charged for each item upon posting. For mail items submitted to the postal box, the General Delivery fee may be also cashed upon delivery.The “delivery to addressee only" (personal) service is not accepted.
The postal item is not endorsed.
The postal item is issued to the addressee only after identification and based on signature.
Delivery to the addressee only (Personal delivery)
The service is performed at the sender’s request, who wishes the item to be delivered to the mentioned addressee only. The sender writes down on the mail item, in the area intended for additional services , "personal delivery"
Upon posting, an additional fee (fixed) is charged for each item.
The service is not performed for items addressed to: working places, hotels, dorms, rest houses,
hospitals, sanatoriums, military units, institutions or economic operators, penitentiaries or other detention places.
Insured mail (V)
The service whose feature consist in insuring a mail item against loss, theft, total or partial damage or deterioration, for an amount equal to the insured value stated by the sender.
An additional fee is charged for each mail item based on the insured value, calculated at percent (percentage from value).
For domestic mail items the minimum value is of 20 lei, and the maximum value is unlimited. The sender is liable for the amount of the insured value which can not exceed the real value of the content.
In the left corner of the packing, under the sender’s address, is written the letter „V” followed by the value in lei (for domestic mail items)
Insured domestic mail items travel registered from the posting subunit to the delivery subunit and are monitored using the Track&Trace system.
“flat envelopes” (rectangular envelopes, rectangular postal cards or irregular shape postal cards):
minimum sizes: must have one side of minimum 90 x 140 mm, with a tolerance of 2 mm;
maximum size: 305 x 381 mm;
maximum weight: 500 g;
maximum thickness: 20 mm.
“packet” (any mail item having the shape of a roll or parallelepiped exceeding any of the sizes provided at standard and flat envelopes category):
1) parallelepiped packets:
maximum sizes: combined length, width and thickness: 900 mm, the largest size must not exceed 600 mm, with a tolerance of 2 mm;
maximum weight: 2 kg.
minimum sizes: length plus twice the diameter: 170 mm, the largest size must not exceed 100 mm;
maximum sizes: length plus twice the diameter
ter: 1040 mm, the largest size must not exceed 900 mm, with a tolerance of 2 mm;
maximum weight: 2 kg
When sending a mail item in a non-EU country, subjected to customs clearance, the sender must fill in a customs declaration detailing the content in question.
Several printed papers can be sent in a single mail item, provided that they are addressed to the same addressee.
Other items can be inserted if they are limited to data disks, magnetic tapes, tapes, commercial samples, notification materials, which are not intended for sale and only if they relate to the content of the mail items..
It is prohibited to contain any annotation or personal correspondence.
It is allowed to attach a postal card or an envelope containing the address of the mail item’s sender, which can be previously stamped, in order to be returned as answer to the sender.
The right half of the mail item surface is reserved for the addressee’s address which will be written by the sender, on the lower right corner; for applying the postal stamps, the labeling prints or the observations replacing all the above, on the upper right corner.
On a mail item it is permitted to inscribe only the coordinates of one sender and one addressee.
On letter mail items, printed papers and direct mail, the address of the addressee is written on the upper left corner of the envelope.
In the case of mail items presented as envelopes, the sender may write his address on the envelope closing flap.
In the case of mail items presented as rolls or packed in transparent material, the sender may write his address and the addressee’s address on a single label, separated by a line.
In the case of mail items presented folded, under the banderole, the sender writes his address and the addressee’s address on the banderole, separated by a line.
In the case of window envelopes, the addressee’s address is written in the window's area, so that the writing is completely visible and impossible to be moved by several handlings outside the concerned area.
In the case of post cards, the address of the addressee, the labeling prints and the observations or labels are applied on the right half of the mail items, while the sender’s address is written on the special area on back of the mail item or, as the case may be, on the area situated on the left part.
In case a specific postal document is applied on the front side of the mail item, the addresses of the sender and of the addressee are written in the proper rubrics of the document; if the mail document accompanies the concerned mail item, without being applied on it, the addresses shall be written according to the previous provisions; at posting, the sender shall write on the packing his address and the addressee’s address even if there are also written on the postal document applied on the item.
The addresses must be written correctly, completely and legibly, so that the mail items could be delivered at the destination or returned to the sender; the writing shall not be in crayon or other writing instruments that do not assure the requested printing quality.
The addresses must be compactly written, without spaces between the letters and without spaces, on the length of the mail item.
The addresses shall be written in Latin and Arabic, without erasures, corrections or bolding.
The name of the destination locality and, as the case may be, the name of the country of destination shall be written with capital letters.
In the case of mail items accepted without being packed or packed in a material that does not allow the writing of the address and observations in question, the address shall be written on a self-adhesive label or on a paperboard or plate support, which shall be tightened to the item in question.
In order to fill in the addresses, the senders may create their own stamps containing the necessary information and may apply them on the mail item in the places provided in this respect.
In the case of international mail items, the information on the postal address shall be written as follows:
Addressee/Sender – surname and surname, for natural persons, or name in print for legal entities (it is recommended to write also the father’s initial in certain situations);
name of the street (avenue, boulevard, street, alley etc.), building number, flat number, entrance, floor, apartment;
postal code and locality ( for rural areas firstly is written the locality, followed by the municipality of which is part of)
county or district ( if the locality is the county seat and bears the same name as the county itself, the name of the county shall not be written)
The electronically monitored mail items and the mail items for which preferential prices are granted for being sorted according to the postal code shall be accepted at posting only if the postal code is written on them.
If the destination country uses other writing characters, it is recommended that the address is also written in those characters.
In order to identify the addressees (natural persons) of domestic mail items which are not sent to their permanent residence, when writing their address there shall be mentioned:
in the case of mail items sent at the addressee's working place: after the name and surname of the addressee there must be written the exact name of the department/division and position of the addressee, followed by the name and postal address of the institution where the addresses works;
in the case of mail items addressed to an addressee who is hospitalized or in a detention facility: after name and surname there shall be written any elements that allow the identification of the addressee, meaning the pavilion/ward/room (in case of hospitalization), date of birth and parents' names (in case of detention);
in the case of a temporary domicile at another natural person's place: name and surname of the addressee, name surname, address of the person the addressee lives at (e.g. Gheorghe Nicolae at Petrescu Ilie, followed by the latter's address);
in the case of "General delivery" mail items: the addressee's name and surname shall be written according to the personal information on the ID card and the contact point where the delivery must be picked up from, the postal code and the county , written within the address
in the case of mail items sent to the "P.O. Box " there shall be written: addressee's name and surname, the contact point where the PO Box is rented, number of the PO Box, postal code and county; (in case of mail items sent to an undisclosed PO Box, it is not necessary to write the name and surname of the addressee);
in the case of mail items sent to addressees in military units the name and surname of the addressee shall be preceded by the military rank and number of the military unit, contact point, postal code and the destination county.
There shall not be admitted insured mail items (insured content) addressed to addressees whose addresses contain the names written with initials.
